“The last pair of elements of the blog is a video that represents the two artists performing the pietà in a street of San Francisco. Again they are filmed from their back, and separated by a white cloth. On the cloth, the screen that separates the two artists, are projected images that may be part of their personal narrations, their world, intimate aspects of their existences. These images get mixed up with shadows of people that walk in the street, as the music that they are playing superimpose itself to the noise of the city.
The screen represents in a way the inevitable – necessary and sometimes excruciating – separation and, on the other hand, the space of projection of thoughts, images, subjectivities, that thanks to that same separation can exist and nourish each other. It is also the dream screen that Lewin (1946, 1948) defines as the blank background upon which the dream picture appears to be projected…” — Sara Boffito http://www.internationalfieldtheoryassociation.com/blog-by-sara-boffito
